Coldplay singer is music fans’ choice for PM
Coldplay singer Chris Martin is the choice of music fans to be Prime Minister, according to a poll for NME.
Martin, whose uncle David Martin is a former Conservative MP and standing for election in Bristol, was chosen ahead of Bono, Morrissey and Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
The 28-year-old, who is married to Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, has recently been campaigning for debt relief in Africa.
The survey, conducted by Populus, saw the Liberal Democrats come out on top among 18-24 year olds with 37 per cent of support, compared to 26 per cent for Labour and 17 per cent for the Conservatives.
