Bored of the election? Buy a gnome!

For those people under whelmed by the election fever gripping the national press there is a new solution – buy a gnome!

The Sun, complaining about political apathy, has introduced three hand-painted gnomes it calls “Boozy, Smoothie and Smiley”. There are no points for guessing which leaders they refer to.

Originally produced for satellite channel UKTV Style Gardens, viewers searching for the gnomes apparently crashed the channel’s website when first launch.

In a withering comment on the election, The Sun notes: “Yesterday, a set of three gnomes outside Parliament generated more excitement than their real-life counterparts.”
