SNP promises Scottish focus
Arriving at Westminster today the six SNP representatives said they would ensure that Scotland came firmly up Westminster’s agenda.
And leader Alex Salmond said the SNP would be renewing its campaign to impeach Tony Blair.
The SNP gained two seats in the general election and believes it is in a position to put increasing pressure on Labour in regard to Scotland.
Mr Salmond said: “Scotland is in a position of greater strength in this new parliament and we have an opportunity to push Scottish concerns to the fore.
“The Prime Minister is weakened and discredited. The clock is already ticking on Tony Blair, and it will be the SNP’s target to hasten his departure.”
