Reid attends memorial service for Iraq dead
Defence Secretary John Reid is today attending a memorial service for the ten servicemen who died when their Hercules plane crashed in Iraq.
He will be accompanied by senior military officers at the service in Salisbury Cathedral, close to the RAF Lyneham base where eight of the men had been stationed.
The crash, in January, was the single biggest loss of life the UK Armed Forces experienced in the war in Iraq.
A report into what caused the RAF C-130K to crash is due to be published shortly.
