Britain is voting as part of the European parliamentary elections – the largest trans-national elections in history.

From the 27 member states of the European Union (EU) 736 MEPs will be elected by an electorate of more than 500 million over a period of three days between June 4th and 7th.

Britain is divided up into 12 voting districts, each with a different number of MEPs according to population density.

Last time, Britain elected 19 Labour MEPs, two Green MEPs, 12 Liberal Democrats MEPs, 27 Conservative MEPs, 12 Ukip MEPs, two SNP MEPs and one Plaid Cymru MEP.
