Brown’s steak pie recipe makes it into print

The prime minister has contributed to a cook book, revealing his love of Chequers steak pie.
The recipe comes in a new book, Food for Heores, which asked 100 people to nominate their heroes and the dish they would like to make them.
Gordon Brown said he would make the pie for Eric Liddell, the Scottish athlete in Chariots of Fire.
Tory leader David Cameron opted for a slow-roast shoulder of lamb for Lance-Corporal Johnson Beharry, who recently received the Victoria Cross.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, decided on mint lamb chops with roasted shallots and spinach mash to Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the godfathers of Victorian engineering.
Former prime minister Tony Blair selected Mahatma Gandhi as his hero, and suggested stuffed flat field mushrooms with a tomato and tarragon sauce.
