DoH: We still lag behind

A Department of Health (DoH) spokesperson comments on breast cancer figures:

“The rapid drop in breast cancer mortality rates between 1986 and 2006 shows that changes the NHS made in treatment, screening and access to drugs have really made a difference.

“However England’s breast cancer mortality rate is still lagging behind that of other countries, which is why were focussing on improving outcomes and achieving earlier diagnosis.”
