Labour: You can’t trust Cameron on the NHS
Shadow health secretary John Healey comments on David Cameron’s NHS speech:
“The past year has been a catalogue of confusion, incompetence and broken promises for the NHS, made all the worse by a massive, mishandled reorganisation that is piling extra pressure on the health service with nearly £2 billion promised for patient care being wasted.
“The King’s Fund say waiting times are going up and the Nuffield Trust say that health funding is being cut in real terms.
“Meanwhile, the break-up of integrated care and the removal of national standards at the heart of the health service are exactly what the Tories’ health bill designed to do.
“This is why public concern about the NHS is rising rapidly, and it is why people are right to conclude they can’t trust the Tories on the NHS.”
