David Cameron enters House of Lords as he becomes Baron Cameron of Chipping Norton
David Cameron, who was appointed foreign secretary during Rishi Sunak’s cabinet reshuffle last week, has today been sworn into the House of Lords.
The foreign secretary’s life peerage was the first order of business in the House of Lords this afternoon.
Wearing the traditional ermine robes and grab, Lord Cameron swore the oath.
He said: “I David Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton do swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear truly allegiance to His Majesty King Charles, his heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God”.
