Energy UK welcomes announcement on two new CCUS clusters

Responding to the announcement on two new CCUS clusters, Deputy Director, Marta Krajewska said:

“The deployment of Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS) and low-carbon hydrogen is crucial to reaching net zero emissions across our economy by 2050. These innovative technologies will play an important role for those sectors that will be difficult to decarbonise and there is a genuine opportunity for the UK to lead the world in their development at scale.

“We welcome the updated CCUS Programme with the Viking and Acorn projects being awarded Track 2 status. As well as being crucial to meeting our ambitions for cutting emissions, these projects will provide a large number of the high-skilled energy jobs we need for the energy transition”.
