Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer recalled his experiences of undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as he paid tribute to the late Prince Philip in parliament on Monday. Obtaining the Gold Award involved, as Sir Keir put it, “wandering around Dartmoor in a small team with a compass and a map in the pouring rain, frantically trying to find our way.”
“Mr Speaker,” he added, “if that doesn’t prepare you for coming into politics, nothing will.”
